Recently, when I shift from neutral to drive, and depress the accelerator, I sometimes get a groaning sound as it shifts into gear. AT fluid level is fine. I've heard the sound with manual transmission cars, so I'm hoping something's not turning bad down there.

Should I take it in, or is there a DIY solution?

Depending on when you bought it, it may still be under the 5y/60K powertrain warranty. If it is get it into the dealer.

I bought it new in Oct. '05 so it's still under 5 years. I've contacted them for an appointment.
