Trailer / electrical issue

Hello. I have a question about a trailer issue. I recently rented a UHaul trailer to move. About a half an hour into the drive, the trailer lights (tail lights and turn signals) went out. The interesting part is that it also took out all of the interior lights and the radio with it. Does anyone have any idea how all of these are related?? Thanks in advance.
