Hey guys, I came across a good deal on some tires but the size is not quite exact to the car.
The tires are 245/45/18. Will those fit my stock Forester XT wheels—which currently have 255/55/18 tires on them??

Thanks

Well sure, they'll fit but...

You're going shorter and skinnier. You will find your speedometer and mileage will be off by some percentage, and in some cases you may feel the ride being a bit harsher or rougher. As there is not as much sidewall height to absorb bumps, the ride will feel firmer and harsher.

Remember the formula for the sizes of tires -

Tread width x sidewall height X rim size. Your 255-55-18 are 255 mm wide, the height of the sidewall is 55% of the width on an 18" rim.
245-45-18 is skinnier and shorter.

Check out one of the online size comparison tools to see how much difference there will be on your speedo.
