Tire Recommendations for 2001 SF5 S/tb

Bought my forester with summer tires on it and am hoping to get some all-terrain tires for driving on logging roads and general winter play. Current tires are 205/55R16 which I think is a little small. Hoping to get some advice on good aggressive tires. Thinking of lifting, but not done yet...
