My '09 Forester 5MT developed a slight squeaking noise shortly after having the clutch and trans replaced about 5 months ago. I have less than 5k on the clutch and trans and the noise has yet to go away. I've read multiple forums and most have reported that it is the throwout bearing, which doesn't make sense to me. Do they really start making noise just after 4k miles? Could it be fluid? I must add that the noise only occurs when the clutch is not pressed during idle and while driving. When the clutch is pressed, the noise goes away. If it is the throwout bearing, hopefully my specialist will replace it under some type of warranty.

HELP MEH :crying:

@thatslowforester was the t/o bearing assembly changed with clutch? was pilot bearing changed? T/O bearing assembly is a common problem. Also, if they have to go into it again, have clutch fork changed. I had my T/O bearing go in dec 2017. this past Jan the fork cracked so went through the whole thing again
