I've got less than a year left on the factory warranty for my '17 XT, and I'm starting to think about buying a Subaru Gold Plus warranty. Normally I skip extended warranties for cars, and this has generally worked out well (my previous cars, Mazdas, proved very reliable). But this is my first turbo vehicle, and I'm seeing some common failures in the SJ platform (namely the wheel bearings and A/C condenser). Of course the transmission has the free warranty extension, but if I had a turbo failure, the warranty would pay for itself.
Is there any general consensus on whether Gold Plus is worth it for XTs? Any XT-specific common failures that prove expensive to fix?
