I have a leaking thermostat housing on my 98 Forester. The housing has two openings in it - the big fitting where the lower radiator hose attaches, and a smaller hose fitting on the other side that goes to a thin black metal pipe. I assume that it's the transmission cooling, or something. The little fitting has cracked, and I need to replace the housing. But I've talked to two Subaru parts departments, and they tell me that the therm housing they have only have the one big hose fitting. Any clues as to what I'm missing here? Is it possible that I'm looking at the wrong part? Is my car some weird version that has an extra cooling pipe? (I own both a manual and an automatic 98 Subaru, and they both have the two-pipe housing. And yes, I've replaced the head gasket on both of them - argh!)
