There is a place local here that specializes in Subaru to VW swaps, mainly in Vanagons. My uncle did one originally with a 2.5L NA Forester motor but the headgasket blew, so he now has a 3.3L H6 in his Vanagon. If i actually ever saw him I would take a ton of pix. He had it done here:

A writeup a the same install he had done:

This one is pretty cool too. 2.0L turbo and Forester seats!

^^^^After seeing how low his oil filter was, let's see a show of hands that saw the bump thing coming? Geez can you say remote oil filter, that was a disaster waiting to happen. Cool looking car non the less. I've had first hand experience with those wheels as well.:icon_wink:

He's been working on that car for at least 5 years that I know of, and it's still not complete, but he drives it. He has an interesting approach to working on cars -- he'll go for the lowest-hanging fruit and leave other things alone as long as they function. With that involved of a build, you pretty much have to do that.

Note how he is planning on ditching the turbo motor and going N/A with a dry sump.
