Hello... my Forester (2.0XT - 2005), from new, has always used 4W-40 synthetic oil and now it´s 66,500 milles. Do you think this is still the right oil to use or should I use a thicker one? Maybe a 10W-40 or 25W-50
It´s not burning oil but I can see that in 4,350 milles I have to add almost 0.95 Liters...

The first number refers only to the ability of the oil to flow at low temps. You don't need an oil heavier than 40 (the second number). There are billions of posts on oil on this board. :)

1 liter every 4000 miles is well within spec. I would stick with 5w-30 as recommend by Subaru. Why change? The oil pump may not be designed to pump a heavier weight oil.
