Hi everyone, my name is Vhic and i'm new here. I just have a question. This is my first time to own a Subaru (2009 Forester, non-turbo, with 228T km already) and I just noticed (I will have to observe again) that the Temperature blue light is always on. What's the best thing to do? Thank you so much!

Mine comes on for a very short time as my radiator/engine heats up to operating temperature. It then goes off.

I had a Nissan about 20 years ago that always stayed on hot. Here's what I found:

The electrical connector to the temp sensor (usually near the thermostat) was corroded. With Nissan, no voltage passing reads "Hot". Perhaps with Subaru, no voltage reads "Cold". Take off the connector and clean it with sandpaper and contact cleaner and see if that makes a difference. Clean both the male and female connectors. Only takes a few minutes.

if blue light is always on .. take it in for repair
it normally to turns off ~100-120F or 40-50C engine temperature

The first thing I would check is the thermostat which might be stuck open and preventing the engine from reaching normal operating temperature.

I know on one my previous cars the thermostat was stuck open you’ll get lousy gas mileage because the engine never got to optimum operating temp.

I totally concurr with Post #3 by @RidingWV. Check the sensor as they are not "life of vehicle" units.

IIRC, the blue light turns off when the temp is 122*. My coolant temp was one of the displays on my accessport on my 2010 XT.
