I seem to remember reading here somewhere that the '03 Forester uses metal rear wiper arm with a standard fitting, which would make replacing the wiper blade MUCH more straightforward and open up some options. Anyone know if this is a straight swap? If so, anyone know how much this costs? Thanks!

I have also been looking into this because no one can seem to make my rear wiper work even close to well (on my 3rd full blade assembly). My old '03 worked loads better.

Anyone???

Does someone at least have a picture of the splined stalk to which their '03 rear wiper arm attaches? If it looks the same, I'd be willing to take a gamble; my '05 rear wiper sucks donkey.

I just did it today. It is a piece of cake direct swap. There is no splining (sp?) on the 03 arm like there is on the 05, but it still stays in place plenty well once you put the nut on.

Excellent! Now that's what I wanted to hear. Ok now, any suggestions on where I should buy the parts?
