We recently purchased a 2019 Forester in Arizona. Our permanent home is in Colorado. Western state residents get free 2500 maintenance. But since we are a resident of Colorado we don't get the offer. :surprise: We doesn't Subaru treat all new car buyers the same?

This is the norm with practically all auto manufacturers. Promotions and offerings are different for different markets, both domestically as well as internationally.

As for why, you’d have to ask their marketing units to find that answer.

Wondering if this eventually takes effect for the US market
Depends on your consumer laws. In Australia we have legislated protections that exceed the makers warranty so Subaru AU (which is not owned by Subaru/FHI, btw) increasing theirs to 5 years doesn't really give us more than we already have. It is mostly about marketing.

That said, some companies often play hardball even during their warranty periods. The local GM subsidiary Holden, Ford, Fiat+Chrysler+Jeep, Mercedes Benz, Volvo and the WV group apparently being the worst, while Subaru, Hyundai+Kia, Mazda and Toyota are usually the easiest to deal with when the brown stuff hit the fan.

Just to clarify for our brothers across the pond,

Subaru (Aust) Pty Limited imports and distributes motor vehicles and automotive parts in Australia. It offers new cars, family cars, small cars, SUVs, off road cars, diesels cars, sedans, hatchbacks, wagons, and used cars. The company was incorporated in 1960 and is based in Sydney, Australia. Subaru (Aust) Pty Limited operates as a subsidiary of Inchcape Australia Limited.
