Hi,

after a 6 hours drive on the highway to see my folks for the holidays, when i got here i backup to park the car, but then when i tried to put it back in first gear, i coudn't, i tried to push it, change gear while backing up, nothing work, at least the clutch still work but no way to get it out of reverse gear.

Does anyone had this problem or know how to fix it ?

Thank you

Egads. A Google search suggests that this could be caused by external linkage issues, or damaged/mislocated shift fork inside the transmission. You may not have a choice except to have it towed to a mechanic.

If you are lucky, maybe it could be that something froze. Is the car parked outside? How about pushing it into a heated garage and let it warm up. Then see if the problem goes away.
