hi does anyone know any difference between the sti and the type m i know they only made 800 thats about it ?

IMHO it's Forester SF5 made in 2000-2001 and difference is: only STI or STI2 is with Automatic transmission and "STI II Type-M" is with Manual transmission and they was made only 888 cars in the world. They are limited versions.

If you mean the SF shape Forester as per my profile pic, then I know that the "M" sports different front bumper/spoiler plus a myriad of mechanical and electronic jiggery-pokeryness. there is a good japanese site - and some vids - out there, somewhere...

Type M was the only way to get the STI in manual. Also has a wicked body kit and rims that only came on the STI type M.

At least people on this forum use the search engine, rather than creating myriad duplicate threads 0:)

I think the STi type M's look great. If I ever have enough cash for a second car I'll get one, just for fun.
