I just saw one next to me about 15 minutes ago in Irvine. Looks nice.
USDM Spec C...really? I was unaware.
Teh sexor!
Would have looked meaner in black... :evilatyou:
Yeah, its essentially a WRX with STi engine and trans. No HIDs or any of the other nice creature comforts. A budget STi, if you will. Me wants.
I thought it was basically a STI with beefed up suspension, new wheels, and lack of creature comforts?

That said, those wheels look nice is person.

It is very much not a WRX with STI engine and trans. The suspension is adopted from the JDM WRX STI spec C, so you take a normal STI and add the following:

-1 millimeter thicker rear stabilizer bar
-Stiffer rear subframe bushings
-Upgraded rear springs
-16 percent stiffer front springs
-29 percent stiffer rear shocks
-JDM Spec C wheels

and to cut costs you don't get HID's, auto climate control, 6-disc CD player, and turn signals in the mirrors. But you get the crapload of other STI stuff that sets it apart from the normal WRX.

This is a good thing, it shouldn't be a limited run, it's what the STI should have been instead of the softie upmarket thing they turned it into.

Any changes to the seats? The 08+ seats suck support-wise IMHO. Bring over the Recaros!!
Depending on how much they mark this thing up, it could be not all that. You could probably get a cheap STi, get some suspension and wheels and be just as track-ready. But it's still a very cool factory car. I really like the stance.

Regular WRX is nothing like the STi. It is almost like comparing a FWD and AWD versions of the same car.

From what I saw, no change. Red stitch 09+ type.

Here's a gallery btw: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/ca...a_wrx_sti_special_edition_seat_badge_photo_39

I stand corrected.

If you're talking new, this IS the cheap STI. It's $2k cheaper than a normal STI. Which is a very cool thing
Sticker on this car was a tad over 35K with the add on the customer requested.
Holy ****, i just got our new leasing guidelines for March, and you can lease one of these bad boys for 350 a month plus tax and tags with 1299 down. That's 10 bucks a month cheaper than a WRX Premium, and way cheaper than a base Tribeca!
For 350 a month, I would lease one!
