Well, firstly I'm back to the Foresters after a short absence. Pick up my 3rd Forester tomorrow after previously owning a 2002 S-Turbo Manual and 2004 FSTi.

The car in question is a 1999 S-Turbo Automatic.

Am I correct in saying this is either 168 or 177bhp with an 8.9 0-60mph?

Also is it permanent 4WD or 2WD engaging 4WD when required like the newer auto models? Struggling to find answers on the 4WD set up for this model of auto forester.

Regards,

Bob.

I have the original marketing blurb at home, but....

99 S-turbo is 168bhp, o-60 I know for manual not for sluchbox, sorry.

Its permanent 4wd like all Subaru 4eat, however it only send a nominal mount of torque (circa 10%) to the rear wheels via the transfer clutch unless slip is detected or you go into manual mode when it gets closer to a locked diff setup and nominal 50:50.
