Hello all. Sorry if this has already been asked several times. I tried to do a search on the forum but was having trouble. I have a 2018 Forester with stock tires and wheels, and I know that the owners manual states that you should not use snow chains on the car. What does everyone else do when chains are required to go up or through mountains during the winter?

Thank you!

I've been really curious about this myself. I go up to MT HOOD where chains are required. If i get pulled over, am i just supposed to tell the officer, "Bro, its a subaru...." . Sometimes i throw the chains from my wifes car in the trunk just to have something to point to.

If you are driving in areas (you did not give your loc) that chains are necessary. Get good snow tires.
