what does 20G even mean?
This is what it means...

YouTube - Ride in a PPG'd WRX with 100% meth and 25psi w/20g turbo

YouTube - renn's STi 0-60 MPH *spinning* 20g/meth/EWG

If you haven't pushed the car yet, I don't think you realize how much power 350 hp/tq really is. It's capable of low 12s in the 1/4 mi, depending on your driving. That's on par - if not faster than - a stock M5, RS4, c63 AMG, M3, etc.
Here's how the 20g compares to other Subie stock turbos...

From left to right - TD04, VF39, 20g

^^^ More like: Wow, OMG, OMFGWTFBBQ!!!
I'm speechless... So my car can do that?! That's seriously scary acceleration and speed. I won't be pushing this thing till I've had proper lessons and the right mods to keep from blowing up
......to keep from blowing up
Not so much blowing up, more-so from hitting trees......or sharp, pointy boulders.

Seriously though, you're car is most likely capable of acceleration that will rival most cars in the $50,000+ price range...(RS Audi's, AMG Merc's, M-Line BMW's, etc.)

In other words.....

I want to drive it.

Badly.
Well I think a 6spd tranny and racing clutch are on call because I'm sure that would help relieve stress on the car.

If you wanna drive it then we need to meet sometime!! (I'll admit I've always wanted to drive yours and meet you!) plus you're only in Arizona
I sure hope you have an extra $6-8k laying around for a 6spd and install...
Even used will cost that much?? I could probably install it myself..
......plus you're only in Arizona
New Mexico, but close enough.
New Mexico, but close enough.
Arizona is another word for New Mexico. You just don't know because you don't speak Californian
^^ Maybe. That's all I can think it is......being that we had a bacon thread a couple months ago with people posting up their support for bacon.
It's Passover. Bacon is not kosher.

20G is a serious turbo. Your car should be a riot, take it easy for now. There is a track day at Thunderhill on 1st of June, that would be a good opportunity to open it up a little. If you are interested, you need good tires, fresh'ish oil and all the leaks fixed.

Stan
Holy crap.

:new_multi:

I've been reading about most of the turbo mods on Foresters here and don't think I've seen one like that on here yet. Impressive.

So, you smoke any ricer Civics yet?

You don't need a "racing clutch". Only reason (sane) people go to a heavier clutch is if their existing one isn't holding the power of the car -- clutch slips from too much torque. I bet stock STi clutch can hold 350wtq. Heavier clutches will put more strain on the transmission and other drivetrain components, "softer" stockish plate will provide cushioning and actually save your transmission.

Not to mention, heavy duty clutches tend to weigh more and are a pain to drive on the street -- most have really heavy pedal feel and are on/off.

Stan
So, you smoke any M3's yet?
Fixed your question for you.
Stupid question but is the fxt a hydrolic clutch? Typically hydrolic clutches don't don't get heavy with "heavier" pp's.

Oy!, Demspey just brought a bazooka to a fist fight.
don't encourage him to use it.. he hasn't figured out all the buttons yet.

keep that thing pointed in the right direction and rubberside down, worry about 'smoking' things some other time.

Miatas have hydraulic clutches and their heavy duty pressure plates make the pedal feel alot heavier

Stan
Dude I just smoked a pedestrian! I'm soooo cool :sarcasm::lol:

Looks like I've got more homework than what school assigns :sigh:

Thanks Mike.... lol
A6N6D6Y had a 20G'd auto XT and he would consistantly do 0-60 in the low 3 second range. Not many cars under 100k can do that. He took me for a ride and even starting off in 2nd (to help save the tranny) it would but you back in your seat and hold you there as you QUICKLY approached triple digits. If I could afford a 6 speed tranny, I'd love to have a 20G.
Whoa, so would you say starting in 2nd is something I should be doing? That's awesome though, I bet in a m/t  it'd be closer to the 2 second range!
