How do you like those BC's?

They're a significant improvement over my old setup. Unfortunately, I can't comment on them quality-wise because I haven't experienced anything else. They feel great for my needs and I'll leave it at that :icon_wink: !
That steering wheel is awesome. I cant wait to get one myself. Car is looking good man

Thanks, it feels really nice and connected to the car. I'm sure the smaller size has a lot to do with it!

On another quick note,
I fixed a major air leak this morning and did some pulls...

288.8 HP / 292.2 TQ @ 6,700'! :woohoo:

I do have one more very minor air leak on my turbo to TMIC hose which I will fix shortly.

New mud flaps and ECU installed!
...and I figured I'd shoot a few photos on the water before I move, too!

I'd also like to give a huge thanks to Gorilla Offroad for their continued support :icon_wink:

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great Turkey Day / Thursday if you don't celebrate this holiday  Anyway, I just got back home after a trip down the northern California coast. I brought my camera with me for once and snapped some photos - enjoy!

Just off the coast outside of Crescent City, CA.

This one was taken at the Point Arena Lighthouse in Point Arena, CA.

Finally, I pulled off Lighthouse Road for this one; and with the sun hidden behind some clouds, I couldn't have asked for a better backdrop!

sick thread dood, i just finished going through the whole thing

from everybody forecasting your imminent death, to everybody dropping to their girly knees to bow humbly before you and your poorly painted front bumper

much respect broaster, if i wasn't on E85 we might have a chance to meet up one day

keep doing what you're doing!
that is one awesomely beautiful (yet rugged) foz Love the new pics.

Thanks for the kind words! This car has definitely come a long way in the past five years.

If I'm ever down you way, we should definitely get together!

Thank you! These are some of my favorite photos thus far!
I've decided to start making consistent videos again, this time in the form of Vlogs!

My goal is to post one either weekly or bi-weekly (depending on how much content I can create!). If you'd like to check out my first FOZ Vlog, I'd be honored!

A New Beginning - FOZ Vlog #1

Enjoy!

On a side note, I have been putting a new and improved website together for the car so stay tuned for that as well!

Last weekend, I ended up with an unfortunate unrepairable flat tire... It ended up being cheaper for me to pick up a set of 2004 Goldies from a local shop, opposed to buying four new 255 summer tires so....

I've since installed 25mm spacers and will take some updated photos in the next two days, depending on mid terms. I've also got a new video on the way which should help showcase these wheels a bit better :icon_wink:

I almost made it to 200k.
Almost...

Here is everything I've done with the car in the past two weeks, enjoy!

First, I broke my rear tail light while trying to bake it (which isn't actually possible - I learned the hard way)... and was given an excuse to replace it!

A friend of mine has a very clean engine bay and I decided to try my hand at getting mine looking good... Key word: tried.

Following cracked OEM oil feed lines, IAG braided lines were installed.. and failed twice, the second photo is what I thought was a fix for the original faulty t-fitting from IAG.

After all that, I stayed up all night and installed my new AEM wideband gauge (and damn it looks good!).

This morning, I flashed a new rom onto my ECU, courtesy of Mikey, and went for a cruise. It had been three too many days since I'd been able to drive my Fozzie!

This is the gas station I never made it to:

...and here's what I pulled up on my laptop after I coasted into that empty parking lot:

I was expecting this to happen at some point but I wasn't prepared for the reality of it.

It appears as though the timing belt jumped a few teeth... only 13 days before my planned motor swap... because the IAG lines failed again and I lost oil pressure. This apparently caused the passenger side cam shaft to stick and ruin everything.

See you on the other side :icon_wink:

Why are the IAG oil lines/connectors failing so much? And how/when/where did I miss the roof scoop???
Yeah...you should see if they'll help you out any. Not completely their fault, but sorta is.
My tune was so extreme that it skipped the timing belt.

But in all seriousness, lack of lubrication, or any issue with lubrication can lead to unfortunate events like this. The codes you texted me are representative of a skipped timing belt. I would know, after the first "built motor" i had died of oil starvation, i got codes for all 4 cyl misfires, and a number of other 'timing over advanced' codes, as well as the fact that the motor would not start at all.

Either way you look at it, its a sucky situation, despite how you were lined up to soon have a new motor that we could have some fun with that would present much more reliability in comparison to your stock 200k+ mile motor.

IAG should be contacted for having sold you a faulty product that indirectly led to oil starvation. Its a longshot, but if you get a hold of someone decent, theres hope something may come of it.

Goodbye stock motor...
Thanks for the fun times!

This is the final photo I took of the engine bay before beginning the swap:

Getting my hands dirty (well, arms ) while disconnecting the radiator hose:

Removing the lower transmission bolts - I can't believe how easy this stuff is, I feel like a pro!

This is three hours after I took that first shot. If my buddy didn't have to spend time assembling the engine hoist, the entire removal would have taken less than two and a half hours - easy!

We called it a night once everything was disconnected and out of the way... As soon as I post this, I'm headed back outside to hook up the hoist and pull the motor!

Stay tuned... :icon_wink:

I'm not sure why those lines failed. I think it's because if you don't use teflon tape on the connections, they will come loose... Too bad I found that out after it was too late. If I get around to it, I may pull my heads and do some detective work. It was known that I already had low compression in one cylinder so it was really only a matter of time - I was counting down until the 21st of this month and I'm surprised that I got so close with my prediction

I don't know how you missed the roof scoop! I'm wondering if I did a real write-up on it or just briefly mentioned it in a previous post?! I'll look into it and maybe do a quick "Why I Cut a Hole in My Roof" post for ya!
