I'll look into that brake upgrade... any idea why the ABS doesn't like it???
Looking cool Demps!

Not quite sure. Might need new pads and rotors and a break-in run! We'll see!

Thanks Brian!
I've decided that I like the color red...

Apologies for the poor quality. I'll take some nicer photos once I get more red film and finish this up!

Looks baller dude. How you like the red dash? After doing mine red I LOVE it.

It's okay... I need to add one or two more LEDs in the speedometer because the top is still a little dark. Also, I couldn't get the Odometer to be visibly red. It's red right now but I just can't read the numbers - did you find a work around to this?!

Thanks for the compliments by the way! :icon_wink:
So after a fun weekend of autocross...

....and not giving a damn about my clutch....

I came home Sunday night and got straight to work pulling my tranny in order to install this goodness:

Went to bed at around 2:30am, got back to it at 9am and had everything but the driveshaft and exhaust back in by 11! Once I'm home from work I'll finish up and start the break in period because there's another autocross in three weeks followed by a 1,200 mile trip the next weekend!

Plus, I have something else on the way.. Wonder what it could be :icon_wink:

EDIT: Finished my clutch install in about 8 hours with no major issues besides the usual difficulty of mating the transmission back to the engine.

So far I can say that having an OEM flywheel is much better than my old 8lbs-lighter ACT flywheel which made my car idle poorly and die on a regular basis (maybe due to the lack of weight/momentum?). Anyway, I love the set up: This clutch gives the same amount of grip during it's break-in period as my old OEM clutch did when it was fully broken in.

I have 450 miles of city driving left and hopefully I'll have that all done by my next autocross on the 3rd of next month! Until then, I'm waiting for my new scoop to arrive and am trying to decide on which vinyl to get for my half-wrap... :icon_wink:

Figured I'd share this photo I snapped before heading out of town last weekend for some long-awaited autocross

and here's a preview of what's to come:

This is now a working, functioning thing. I'll be making a more "professional" and sturdy version of it when I come across some free time. For now though, it gets the job done and directs air right through my TMIC, keeping temps down and engine response up!

Look who got a JDM FSTI-Style scoop!

nice dash dude!!!! question, where did you get the LEDs for this? I cant figure out what model LED can go in the gauge cluster...

Thanks

I got them from a website that no longer exists. I'm pretty sure my LEDs are 3mm and the recommended size is actually 5mm. You'd want to use white ones with resistors so they don't burn up. Radio Shack should have them or I'm sure you could buy about 20-30 in bulk online and save a few bucks.

I've got to take my cluster apart again soon so I'll take a few pics of exactly what's going on behind the gauges :icon_wink:

In other news...
After taking my friend to the hospital this morning, I came home to all of my coolant on the floor of my garage. Needless to say, I'm not very happy - especially since my passenger harness arrived today and my Group-N motor mounts will be here on Thursday :icon_redface:
thanks for the info man I appreciate it!!!! sorry about your mysterious leak, what did you find to cause the leak?
No problem

I don't know about the leak yet - I'm at work until 8 and then I'll go home and see what I can find.. Hopefully it's something like a hose *fingers crossed*

I would bet so, a random leak from a car sitting just sounds odd without it being a hose or something
Well I can't figure it out. I did a coolant flush and spilled everywhere

Drove the car to work and am hoping that letting it sit for 5 hours will result in another puddle of coolant on the ground, or not (I'm hoping for the latter!).

Aside from that, I reinstalled my oil pressure sender unit so that all my gauges are functioning now  Is ~40psi at idle and ~90psi at 2,500rpm+ normal?
Added a passenger harness today, just in time for this weekend's autocross!

...now hopefully I figure out that coolant leak!

do you have a cage in the back? I'd love to do something like this to mine!

I don't actually! See the link on the first page of my journal under "Interior" for more info :icon_wink:

Why must you leak?
I've still got a major coolant leak which seems to be coming from the turbo so I'll try and get that sorted out this evening.

Coolant flush #2, here I come... :icon_confused:
