Just curious, but why a 20G forester as your first turbo vehicle? Thats pretty up there in power and it most likely IS going to blow the transmission at some point. I feel a VF39 would be much more fun to just putter around in if you're not going to race it or anything as you'll actually be able to get on the gas without going straight into a tree lol.
Let's face it, you didn't buy a 20G FXT to go slow. :N_poke: Your first mod should be a driving class. :tissue::biggrin:
^You just hush. I'm still dreaming of a STOCK XT. :lol:

Dempsey, just don't kill it, okay? lol Post up plenty of pics!

I was going to get a turbo anyways... I didn't know what 20 g meant when I first started looking at the car and by the time I found out I wasn't going to back down. I plan on upgrading to a new tranny/clutch soon-ish but I don't live in a place where I can even drive over 55mph so it won't be a problem for now.

xD Rally school next Friday! Problem solved haha. I'll surely take driving classes that relate to this new car in the future though.

:lol: I won't! I'm gonna take care of her! You'll get that FXT soon enough! Maybe if repairs are too expensive on the Outback this summer you can just trade up or something?!
I think crash bandicoot is a well suited name, nice one Rem :biggrin:
High Schooler + Modified FXT + Snow = Serious :censored: Trouble :biggrin:
Yay... another journal thread for Crash Bandicoot, I mean Snoshado.

I wish I was cool enough to have multiple Forester journals... :wink:

ooh this is going to be soo good.. talk about starting @ the deep end.
just going to get my feet wet, until I drown :biggrin:
lol that was my first thought as well. Going from a stock X to a 20g FXT. This should be interesting :woohoo:
+1 to that.

Congrats on the upgrade!

The problem is FAR from solved, especially if you think that learning how to powerslide your car in the dirt is going to teach you a single thing about handling that much power on the street.

HERE is the FIRST MODIFICATION that you need to make. Instead of getting a six-speed, instead of getting a Stage 2 or 3 clutch (which will make this nearly unstreetable), perhaps you should spend the time/money on the best mod - it's transferable from vehicle to vehicle, it doesn't break or wear out, and it's a piece of safety equipment that just might save your life. I know it saved mine.

You have a new title now - we'll remove it after a time if we don't see this FXT make an appearance in the Member Mishaps forum. BTW, we've heard all the excuses before, so you're going to have to get really original.

Some of the more original excuses for wrecking a Subaru:

The turbo spooled at 12mph
The deer jumped out in front of me
There was a puddle in the road and my car started oversteering
The sun was in my eyes
The guy I was racing in the Supra cut me off at 130mph
My ABS kicked in
I had two people in the back seat which shifted my weight balance to the rear

^Bwaahaha.. what about some of Dempseys own;

I think we're all mostly worried about a relatively new driver NOT ending up as a very messy pancake/tree ornament. My parents started me off driving gokarts and such when I was younger, but even still, looking back on the first few years of driving when I had a mustang GT and the FXT, I'm not sure how I'm still alive! Especially with a car with that much power, you HAVE to know how to control it past the limits, not just how to control it in normal driving. Also I would start putting money into a "I need a new clutch/transmission" fund (or a de-mod fund, I'm not sure a 20g is really ideal for a daily driver).

neither is a 35r but i still do it. Just because you have the power doesn't mean you always need to use it. i probably drive safer than most people I know since I am aware of how dangerous my car can be.

c'mon guys let him live and learn his own lessons.

Yep, first thing's first. Driving school. Driving, not rally. I'm saving my pennies!

Nice dude..::)
