I have a 2005 Forester, LL Bean Edition, with around 15000 miles on it.

Every now and then, mainly while stopped and with the engine running, I smell coolant (anti-freeze). I cannot find any leaks or drips anywhere on ground nor around any of the hoses.

Any ideas on what may be causing this???

I had the same problem on my 04 FXT. Never found any leaks or drips, and it eventually stopped smelling.

Just keep an eye on the coolant level in the reservor tank and make sure it doesn't drop below the "low" mark when the engine is cold.

Re.

Is it a burning smell or just a normal coolant smell?

Could be they overfilled the coolant overflow, so some gets pushed out when engine heats up. If this is the case, it will stop happening soon.

It's a common occurrence. Mine does it too, especially after hard driving.
