Hi All,

My rear left sls suspension has been dying after 135.000 kms. I saw some oil was coming out from the top of the strut. Quickly brought the car to a suspension specialist, and read many topics on the forum.

The suspension "doctor" said he has never seen suspension before like under my 2.0 XT, he couldn't help. I brought a dead rear left suspension and took it to another specialist, to try to repair it. They could not do it :(.

After many weeks of searching on Europian ebay sites, I gave up. I did not find used sls struts for my car.:(

I got offers of course for OEM ones, but it will cost 600 EUR for a pair. As I calculated for this amount of money I can buy this one:

BC racing - BR Series Coilover : Type RA

the guys from the company said, they can make longer stur bodies so the car won't loose rideheight, and I will have the possibility to lower it if I want.

I do not have experience with this. Normally I do not load the back with heavy stuff, so actually I do not need self leveler, but what happen if I use trailers for example?

Does somebody have this BC Racing coilovers installed? Or does somebody in Europe has used but working rear sls struts?

Many thanks!

Merry Xmas

Not sure why you want to jump tocoilovers from stock suspension at all, you either want the car MUCH stiffer or not.

Replacement SLS units are expensive, and those from breakers quite old now.

Why not just get KYB replacement rear shocks that are non SLS and buy some non SLS springs to match, match your front suspension rates, easy.

Hi Rookie,

I saw the comments about KYB struts also. As I calculated, it will be around 400 Euros. But I won't have the possibility to lower it and have a possibility to turn faster, however I hardly ever use my car on racetracks.

For the KYB I have to find springs first, or search a factory who can make it for me.:icon_eek:

But I guess for my budget KYB solution will be the most effective:)

If you want to lower and 'turn faster' then fit Impreza suspension front and rear, still road stiffness and much cheaper than coilovers.

This is a classic thread of chasing tails, What do you want and then ask advice, as it is your first posts give no indication of anything but fixing failing rear SLS.

KYB sturts will be the solution for me.

Coilovers + winter + salt = corrosion and seized parts. I'm sure it snows in Hungary.
