I bought a used 2009 Forester a few weeks ago that is in good shape, but a few days ago when adjusting my side mirrors, my mirror adjust buttons popped out and are still visible within the dash but unusable. Does anyone know how to remove the small panel where they are located so they can be re-positioned? Does anyone have further suggestions on repairing this problem. Thanks much.

Hey Tat,

Welcome to the forum. I am not sure exactly where the mirror adjust is on a 2009-2013 model, as I have never even been in one.

On my 2014 the mirrors are controlled by a knob in the driver door by the window and lock switches. Since you say it is on the dash I am assuming it is not where mine is located.

Could you by chance post a picture of the problem?

Dash panel loose

I have heard of people knocking this panel loose with their knee. I think it snaps in from the back. You may have to glue it in place. I would use some CPVC adhesive from a plumbing store. Here are a few pictures of how to get at it. It's easy.
