I recently got cut off on the freeway in my '10 Forester XT. The damage was to my front passenger fender, suspension, wheel and tire. BTW it was 100% fault of the other driver.
I just got my Forester back from the body shop. It looks great again.
My question is, should I replace the driver side front tire? My insurance will only take care of what was damage (passenger side). My vehicle only has 9,500 KM (5900 miles) on it.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

IMHO...With that few a miles, just go buy two replacement tires and don't look back. If you don't, you will always be waiting for it to blow and questioning yourself. A few hundred dollars for piece of mind seems cheap!

The new tire should match the diameter your old tires. You could have the new one shaved to match the diameter of the other tire. It's even possible that new tire is close enough, but it wouldn't hurt to have it checked. I'd think your insurance company would pay to have the new tire shaved.
