Placed an order, when do I get VIN?

So I placed an order for a '19 Limited a couple weeks ago, have received a couple emails from Subaru-
the first just notified me that they have the order & delivery will be late February (I'm hoping earlier).
Then I got an email to notify me to make my 'Share the Love' charity selection, 4 options.
When I tried to do that it requires a VIN, which I don't have.
Did I miss something? Should the dealer have given me a VIN when I placed the order?

This is my first Subaru & also first time placing a factory order, so I'm not familiar with the process.

You won't get a VIN until the vehicle goes into production. Delivery is typically about 6-8 weeks from order.

Do not worry, you can Share The Love once you get delivery of your car as I did.

I surehope so, but the email notifying me to select a charity says I have until Jan 31 to do it and I don't expect delivery until late February...
Hopefully will at least get the VIN sometime in January.
