**CAR IS SOLD, after the issues I had with my Subaru, I won't personally advocate for anyone to purchase them. Many people have had great luck though, so best of luck to those who want to play the Subaru lottery.

Car:
2010 Forester XT in Steel Silver Metallic

My Background:
I am a Mechanical Engineering student with 1 year left in my education. I will be working with the United States Air Force when I graduate. I have basic automotive mechanic abilities like: oil changes, brake jobs, transmission fluids, differential fluids, and other rudimentary services. I would say I am mechanically inclined and I am going to be learning a little bit every time I work on my vehicles.

Car Background:
I purchased my 2010 Subaru Forester XT in September of 2016. The vehicle had 68k miles and the seller was asking $17k. I was told the car had been in a rear end collision earlier that year, but everything was fixed incredibly well, and the title was still clean. This led to further negotiation to the price of $14k, which was justified by the tasteful mods that were done to the vehicle that I would have just done anyways. Mods at the time of the purchase were as follows: Cobb Accessport V3, Cobb Intake w/airbox, Cobb BPV, Cobb 3-Port BCS, Cobb Uppipe, Invidia Catless Downpipe, Invidia N1 Catback Exhaust, 17”x7 Konig Controls wrapped in 225/55/R17 Michelin summer tires, Optima red top battery, and road tuned by Graham at Boosted Performance Tuning. The couple I bought the vehicle from were very nice folks that owned another Subaru, and were really sad to see the forester go.

Accident...:crying:

Dave's Auto Body Co. did an incredible job with the repair...

Future Plans:
Right now I am not going to list everything, but I will briefly summarize the overall goal. I plan to find myself a 2008-2014 wrecked STI in the next two years. I need to first get another temporary daily driver so that I can take on the project. I will do the entire STI swap minus a few various things including: the sti intake manifold, sti intercooler, and etc... I want to get the Grimmspeed WRX style intercooler because I think that shape looks better than the STI style. I plan to install a Cobb Flex Fuel Kit made for the STI of that generation. I will also be converting my interior from the awful grey/tan to black.

Build Mentions/Inspirations:
@Sleepy1
@awdriven
@Aussie Dave
@EugeneUtopia
@Superacerc
@ebrake_n
@FXTerrific
@Rescuer
@GTEASER
@nate_fisher

This group of guys all have amazing builds that have really helped with my decision making for this journey I am about to endure!

Yeah he definitely knows his way around Subaru's. I am learning every day I get to work on mine. It will be really nice to bounce problems off of @Superacerc being he has done the swap before. I found a local STI for $12k, not even wrecked, just spun a bearing...

Got my genuine Subaru front lip!

Install was easy, only required 4 screws, 2 new push clips, and 2 existing push clips. I didn't take the backing off the adhesive because I plan to either repaint the entire car or repaint the lip. This part has been discontinued and I picked the color that I thought would look best without having to repaint for awhile.

I didn't realize that the OEM under spoiler was discontinued. I am looking forward to the under spoiler! I recommend looking into Alupanel. That's the material I am going to re-make my front splitter out of when the time comes.

I will definitely look into that material. For now, I plan on taking my front splitter off of my 350z and slapping it on the Forester with some trimming. I really want to try my hand at carbon fiber work for the rear diffuser, but might best to use something more rugged like Alupanel.
