I want to protect my forester the best I can and the better way is skid plates.

The cheap plastic protector under the car is ridiculous and I want to get rid of it.

Can someone tell me all the options, companies, shop that I can go to improve my protection.

And is there any differentials protection and tranny plates that I can fit on my SF 00 ( the one with big transparent rear light)

I am no subaru car guy (yet) and my Forester is begging for awnser.

Make your own, its quite easy. I'm going to change the tread plate for 5mm alluminium soon, but it does a great job as it is. Cost £10 and took 1 day to make.

+ another one for Primitive, I had a Primitive skid plate on my 2007 FXT (may she R.I.P) and I have email in to PE about front and rear plates for my '09 X (I don't have the car yet).

What's the material and thickness? Did you use any special equipment for bending?

Its 3mm alluminium tread plate.
You can bend it using a couple of 'G' clamps, 2 lengths of 3x2 and a fat mate.
Make a template from thick cardboard first.
