New 2019 Forester Touring.

Now that I have a car/computer instead of just a car (I traded in a 1998 Subaru), I have several issues with the software that aren't covered in the manual or by exploring the menus and screens:

1. How do you add favorites to the Nav system? I can enter addresses manually or from the address book, but can't see a way to put them in the favorites list.

2. Same issue with the phone. How do I add numbers to the phone favorites list?

3. On the topic of phone, I downloaded my iPhone address book. But the entries are sorted by FIRST name, not last name (which is how they are indexed on the iPhone). Is there a way to change the sort order on the Forester?

4. Finally, what's with the radio coming on every time I start the car? I've seen online complaints about this dating back quite a while. Does anyone know if Subaru will fix this? My car says the software is the latest version, so why hasn't this annoying feature been fixed for so long? Am I expecting too much? I don't think so.

To add an address to favorites one way is to search for the address and when it pops up the box for routing options tap the "star" which will then highlight adding that address as a Favorite.

Similar thing here. Scroll through your contacts a tap the "star" for any contact that you would like to have as a favorite.

Two options. If you want the screen on for maps or to just have it on the only thing I see is to turn the volume to 0. Radio is on but of course no audio. You can press the left hand knob which mutes the audio but in this case when you start the car the radio comes back on with the volume set to the pre-mute level. Option 2 is to press and hold the left hand knob for 3 or 4 seconds and the head unit screen will turn off. To turn it back on press any button such as Radio or Maps or maybe the volume knob but I did not check this so not sure. In my testing when the screen is off using this method it will remain off after starting the vehicle again.
