I noticed a burning smell that seemed to be coming from the front of the motor on the passenger side. I tracked it down and it appears to be a very slight leak coming from the oil control valve.

There does appear to be a service bulletin out for this issue but since I am out of warranty I am researching fixing it myself

Service Bulletin Reference: https://subaru.oemdtc.com/1360/oil-leaking-from-avcs-oil-control-valve-2011-2019-subaru

Parts needed:
Oil Control Valve Part: 10921AA231
O Ring: 806944060
Ring Backup: 16677AA040

It seems pretty straight forward(1 electric connector and 2 bolts) and easy to access on the passenger but curious if anyone has replaced one of these and has any insight?

Found a YouTube video, it is as simple as I thought. They re-used the spacer but since mine is leaking I am going with all new since it is only an extra $5.
