I'm a newb to Subaru, still. I know about the Cobb MAP stuff, at least that it exists. And that you can get;

1. off the shelf tune
2. dyno tune

Short term, I just want stage1 to smooth out the throttle and more oomph. Long term... maybe I'll go stage2, but I'm pretty dang happy with power at stage0 (last car was a 115hp VW).

So....

1. who does Subaru dyno tuning in the Seattle area? I've heard it's much better than off the shelf for all tune levels.
2. is cobb the best option for me here? what if I only go stage1? what if I go stage2 in 2 years? I have a laptop, is there a cheap cable I can get?

Thanks!

A tactrix cable is about $170, but you might be able to borrow one. If you want a dyno tune that would be an additional cost. Cobb is more user friendly and you might get cheaper OTS maps but the device has to be married to the car.

You can DIY essentially all of it if you're willing to read, be patient, and invest in instrumentation.
