Re. 5EAT to STI 6MT+DCCD conversion. Car is Aust 2012 built and complied S-Edition. I received a quote for AU$27,000 incl GST from a workshop today for this job.

Please respond only If you have personal experience with successfully converting SH FXT to STI 6 speed, and happy to share your knowledge, or know a Subaru specialist experienced with SH auto to manual swap.

I've seen several Aussie and o/s SH Forester XT's successfully STI 6spd swapped over the last decade. The build threads did not report huge cost. The quote, above, seems heavily inflated. If you know otherwise please let me know. I can't see SH owners spending nearly AU$30K for a manual box. It was indicated that the quote could run higher depending on variables. This would be their first SH auto to manual job, but they completed auto/manual jobs on other Subaru models and many 5MT to 6MT jobs on various gen Foresters.

If you've done or paid for this swap on your Foz, or know of someone who has, I'll be very grateful for your advice. Thanks for reading, don't let Covid get you down and stay safe.

Hi Kevin, thanks for responding. Vehicle details were on my profile when I posted. Sorry if not visible, it is my first post here. Profile info is not really relevant as I'm searching for information regardless of the vehicles I own. I filled it out as best I could..sorry!

Thanks for the ADS suggestion mate. As stated I am looking for specific advice please, from people who have done the swap.
