I had roof cross bars installed on 2014 forester (base) model Does the flat part of bar face front or back. I think my are on backwards. Do they angle to the back

Without seeing pictures, and purely based on aerodynamics, I would assume the flat part would face the rear of the car, and if theres a "point" or angle to one side, that it would face forward towards the hood ?
