Having owned two foresters ('02 and '04), I've liked that when the windows are down in the summer that the door doesn't have a frame--it's just a door. It looks cool when you open the door. However, not having a frame for the window to seal into when you close it--creates lots of wind noise at interstate speeds. I know that the newer Foresters have a more traditional door frame/window housing. I would think this helps cut down on the excessive road noise. Does it?

I think it is more due to the slope of the windshield. My 2002 Z28 has frameless windows and is pretty quiet with the windows down at highways speeds.
