After 3.5 years with an Impreza wagon, it was time to come back to the Forester family. I missed the height/clearance and cargo space, in that order. So I put up the Impreza for sale, and less than 48 hours later I had a buyer. Bam!
Went to see one Forester, and it had oil everywhere under the engine. Second Forester... drove it around and 20 minutes later we had a deal--or rather, a steal, because I just paid what the owner owed on it, around $3K less than book value. :D Had a tune-up done last week, and am taking it to the nearest Subaru dealership tomorrow to look at Check Engine/Traction Control lights + flashing Cruise Control light. The code is for cylinder misfire; reading the forums here was helpful to decide to skip trying to change coils or MAP/MAF sensors and go straight to the dealership.
Happy to be back, and happy that we are getting snow early this year.

Welcome back to the Forester family. I had a similar issue where my cruise was flashing and the check engine light and traction control light was lit on the dash. Come to find out my gas cap went bad (plastic cracked) and was not sealing well enough and caused those codes. Glad the forum could help you out.
