Remove trunk plastic interior around latch (not door)?

How to remove plastic interior of trunk that goes over/around the striker latch for the liftgate. Long story short I was delivering food and the container spilled pouring freakin garlic butter right into the gap where the striker latch so now it's all inbetween the plastic and the metal. HELP!!!
