I have a remote start that Subaru put on my Forester the day I bought it. When you open the door, the engine shuts off. This morning I opened the door, engine shut off and I put the key in and started it back up. The heater would not come one. The light on the air circulation knob was blinking. The radio would not come one either. Within 30-45 seconds, everything started working. Does anyone know why? Did I start it too soon? I use my remote often in the winter and never had this problem.

Did you install it or someone else? I've had some similar issues on other cars and it was usually a failed wire splice or a bad relay. Both are easy to fix if you know what you know what to look for, but I choose in both of my cases to just have someone who knows the remote start system to diagnose and fix it. they tap into important wires and I don't really feel like being liable for breaking something :)
