Having trouble figuring out the recommended shifting points for the JDM SG5. I've read the Japanese 2.0 EJ20 has shorter gearing than the us EJ25. The US owners manual recommends going from 2nd to 3rd at 45 kmh and 3rd to 4th at 65 kmh.

At 60kmh I'm at 3000rpm exactly and i feel like that might be a bit of a high rpm to cruise at?

My SG9 shifts most smoothly at about 2400RPM in all gears +/- a little for some. At 90kmh in 5th it sits at around 2300.
Not sure on the ratios in yours though.

@defury Nah I mean 2400. It depends on how quickly you can shift, but by the time I'm fully off the clutch into the next gear, it'll be at around 2000.
Personally, if I am cruising at 2000rpm, that is when I would be considering shifting up. But it depends on the road ahead as then cruising at 1500 is only ok if you're going flat and straight.
Hopefully that makes sense. Just my style tho.
