Good morning all

My 2008 XTEN despite having only 31k has a pretty well knackered diff: noise especially on over-run, clunk when turning right and when checking the oil levels, a silvery sheen to the oil!

What are my repair or replacement options please? And where is the best source or supplier?

May sound stupid but do you have a towbar fitted? The last 2008 I bought for my father a few months back did similar things and the guy thought it was a rear diff .Turned out the exhaust was hitting the towbar under load and turning.
(Just trying to cheering you up ,giving you hope)

Yes it does! well worth checking out thank you, but doesn't explain the silvery diff oil.

Just swarf from age .I'd change the oil and kick the exhaust up the way and see if it hits the towbar mount.
