Actually ive got back pedal some what .
the problem was with a blocked journal so the rod seized on the crank (sorry Roger)
I was told this morning the owner managed to drive it off the motorway ! then got back to the workshop and drove it off the recovery truck with what was left of the rod and piston hitting the crank ,
the rest of the rod was found (Unsurprisingly) in the sump.
But I tell you something the guy that owns it has true grit , he has had three engine failures in as many years .
Makes me wonder if when modifying we should just stick to new Subaru oem short blocks, they are relatively cheap and built by computers and robots .
