So I have a 18 forester limited i bought in July . It has 4500 miles on it. It has a bad rattle in the dash on drivers side. I think by the dash speaker. First time to dealer, they said it was fixed. Wrong. Second time , the tech drove the car and said he didn't hear anything . I caused some hell and another tech rode with me and he clearly heard it. The dealer had it for 10 days . When I got it back , I thought it was fixed.. Wrong. The rattle is back , It's not as bad as before but It's still there. looking at my dash I think it's warped . If anyone has a 18 limited forester and can take a look look at the dash corner on the passenger side and compare my pictures, I'd really appreciate it . I'm not going to just live it . This is a brand new car. Any suggestions on how to proceed getting this fixed? Thanks in advance . First pic is my passenger side

Doubt it’s causing the rattle, but the speaker cover doesn’t look pushed down/clipped on the corner.

When it happens while driving put your hand on the plastic vent on center dash (center near windshield) and see if it stops. If it stops, then it’s an easy fix most likely

I too have a 2018 Limited that had a bad dash rattle on the drivers side, mainly in cold temperatures. I could stop the rattle by pushing forward on the top edge of the instrument cluster, so try that and see if it stops the rattle. My dealer removed the instrument pod and put some pieces of foam behind it. The rattle has stopped.

Just looked at my dash and compared to your pics mine looks much the same. On the passenger side the speaker grill (at the forward right corner near the windshield) does not fit as well as on the drivers side. Drivers side grill is perfect; passenger side grill looks loose/flipped-up at that same corner.

If I were you I would take it to a different Subaru dealer next time.

BTW, your first pic looks like the drivers side.
