For those of you that are running the Sti struts, are you running the factory bumpstops? No bumpstops? Cut Bumpstops?

Just wondering if I pick up a set of struts without bumpstops...not sure if they can be sourced seperately from Subaru? Any feedback is appreciated!

Ok....I hate it when I answer my own post, but I think the answer is that the Sti struts have internal bump-stops....?

Ya, the bump stops are alrdy in them. Taken off from the STi and put right onto my forester with no problem. Hit the bump stops a few times doing some twisties with a fully load of people inside the car

If you put springs on the STI struts that are ANY shorter than stock then you want to cut a single piece off the small end of the body of the bumpstop. It is like cutting a single piece off of the body of a grub. Or if you get Prodrive STI springs then you get a shorter bumpstop with your springs. Some even cut off a single piece off the bumpstop on the stock springs.

And yes the bumpstops are internal but getting to them only involves undoing a single nut to remove the strut assembly from the body.

Directions on doing this:
