Yes, the 14-pin harness should be all you need for the power, illumination, and speaker connections. Should be plug-and-play.
Older years use tiny incandescent bulbs, which do eventually burn out. At some point, the HU manufacturers switched to LEDs.
The small 8-pin socket is for a 5th-channel subwoofer output. Some Foresters have a plain speaker in the rear cargo area that connects to that. To enable the output, you have to bridge two of the pins. Had your HU worked, I have the 8-pin plugs that will plug into that port.
