5km/l (about 17.5mpg) sounds about right for a 2.0 turbo used at low speed, stop start in a city I'm afraid.

Clean or Change the air filter and check fuel filter.

Mine had a consumption of 5.2km/l when it came, I changed spark plugs, replaced the air filter and cleaned MAF now it is on 7km/l city driving. My odo reads 80K km.

hey, i have a 2.0L turbo, and the fuel consumption is just like yours, i guess it depends what you're comparing with. City driving, it gives me about 5.5km/l, highway driving it goes up to about 8.3km/l depending on how heay your foot is.... i've changed the MAF, o2 sensor, air filter, spark plugs..... not much of any difference in terms of fuel consumption.....
