I've swapped out my intercooler a couple of times and I noticed just today that the pitch mount directly under the IC is made of plastic. Are the 04-05's also this way? No wonder that's a good mod.

They are saying it is a problem in the wrx's on the 06 models. Supposedly if you give it a hard enough launch it will snap. When or if it happens they just replace it with one from a 04/05 model.

Not sure if the forester has the same type.

The pitch mount has always been plastic for the most part, some of the really old Scoobies had a metal one with rubber inserts at the ends. It sort of looked like a large version of the sway bar end link. In my RS I upgraded it to the STi group N version and noticed no difference. So if it ain't broke

Now if you really want something that is solid convince KB to make you one of these:

I tested that proto type in my RS, it transmitted so much NVH (making the firewall a speaker kind of) when I first started the motor the sound scared the heck out of me. I think I could hear each valve opening and closing
