So I plan to do the head gaskets, water pump, timing belt, etc.. in spring. Currently I have 91K miles on it.

I know I have a small HG leak, currently running Bars Leak to keep it under temporary control. I have a "spare" car and can get an engine hoist and a stand for the motor. If I pulled it I would replace the rear main seal at least.

*If* I pulled the motor - what other seals should be replaced?

Would it be easier/better to pull the engine on my '01 Forester S (SOHC), or just do this in-car?

Recommendations, advice, and links to how-tos are all welcome.

Check the the DIY section in the Knowledge Base, there's a link to a write-up for doing HG's without removing the engine from the car.
