Hello everyone,

I have this setup in the car: Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com

As weather has recently dropped to 20 degrees or so, I have a really weird cold start issue with my radio. It takes roughly 6-8 minutes to go away.

Upon cold start, my radio will not have any touch screen activity, and any button will change the mode (fm1-fm2-fm3-am) of the radio. Wireless steering controls dont work at all until it warms up.

Any fix or explanation? If its normal I guess I can live with it but I think its a bit ridiculous.

I wouldn't say thats normal, my aftermarket install works fine at -40, well at least as well as things work at that temperature.

My initial thoughts are possibly condensation causing shorting condition or possibly solder contraction that partially breaks connections, messes up internal communications until it warms and re-expands.

If you still have warranty on the deck I would try to use it.

Definitely out of warranty by now. I suppose when things warm up outside Ill have to check the connections. (I did the install myself)
