Hi everyone,

I have a 2005 Subaru Forester. I just noticed that the housing on the passenger side rear view mirror has a little play ( can move back and forth a little by a few degrees)...the drivers's side-no play at all. The motorized mirror works just fine. Just wondering if this is normal....

There are screws that can be tightened from the outside. You may have to move the housing around on the swivel to get to all the screws. :wink:

Do i push the mirror house towards the passenger door ( at about a 45 degree angle) to access the screws?

Forget moving the mirror, that was for another project I was working at the same time that I noticed the looseness. Look underneath tghe housing & you'll see 3 Phillips head screws. Tighten them & that should stop the excess movement. The screw nearest the door is a kinda hard to get at, but it can be done. :wink:

Thank you! Folllowed your suggestion and it was just the thing that was needed to correct the issue! ( I ended up using an offset screwdriver to get to the two phillip screws closest to the car door.)
