Overland04's '13 FXT STi 6-speed Build Thread

I'm writing this journal as a place for myself and other members to keep up with my passion of modifying, and lots of DIY info as I've always done in the past.
I live in Mid-Coast Maine with my wife, son, and cat. This Forester will be a replacement for my WRX, as I found that I never drove it after the modifications became so intense.
I live an hour from any highways, there is no E85, not even 93 octane in most parts of the state... No tuners, and no speed shops. I have the internet, USPS and a passion for cars.

I'm the owner of Overland Designs, where we make a bunch of aftermarket interior products for Subaru's. Over time I hope to be able to find the right look for this interior and help others out with theirs.

It's been warmer than usual for this time of year, but the past few days of rain left me bummed about trying to have a clean car.

Thanks bud! I got a few good things in the works already, just need to get some images edited and post the results.

So far I'm in love with the new ride. It's such a pleasure to get in and drive everyday.

the auto trans shifter surround is terrible imo. scratches instantly. a suede option for that would surely please some 4eat folks. even more so since regardless of interior color, that section only comes in the one shade/color. you cant buy a black one....

also (and sorry to rant in your journal) the hvac trim is different. iirc all the wrx/sti have the 3 button layout..which is different then the layout on your/my touring climate control. i often stare at that option on your site, haha.

ever think about doing the section of door that "touches" it? by the handles.

I had a chance to install the LED park/turn/rear reflectors this evening. The install was very easy and took about 30 minutes.
I'm also working on a small install write-up for them and should be posted up by the weekend.

Haha, yeah when you wrap the HVAC trim, it looks so much better to have it carry over onto the door panel. It's a pain to take them off the door because of the plastic weld, but it's worth it.

They're pretty sweet. I have them wired as standard parking lights and brake lights. The one addition that I just ordered is the LED park turn for the taillights. The speed of the LEDs compared to the speed of the incandescent bulbs it definitely noticeable (and annoying), lol.

And the door handle section doesn't separate from the "top" portion? No worries/dont care....just tryng to learn.

And 100% agreed. And why I asked. Without it would look like the civics with different wheels in the front vs back. Lol.

Where did you find those?? Do they make them for the 14+ Foz?

There are a few JDM company's that make them, I ended up getting them from an Instagram follower who imported a pair from Korea. You can find them on amazon or eBay for pretty cheap though. The Genuine Liberal brand versions are expensive and not 100% sure if they are 3 wire for dual function or not. These did dual, which is why I was drawn to them.

Love the reflectors!
I thought about getting the Liberal ones but the price kept me away.
So I just wrapped mine with black reflective vinyl and they look so much better and still retain safety
