Hi lads,

I've a forester xt 2.0l turbo that overheated and I think damaged the heads. Before I get everything stripped down I was wondering if there is any other heads that will work in the wrx/sti range that would be the same as what I've already got (for sourcing reasons) and what other heads would give me gains if any? (Might be a easy upgrade if I'm going to the trouble of putting another head on)

Not sure just yet how bad things are but I may start getting prices together to see what option are available depending on the damage.

Also I'm not interested with huge power here and don't want to start rebuilding everything to deal with it. Turbo and exhaust with a remap is as far as I'll go. 300bhp max if even.

Thanks Dan

Hi there.

Would new or re skim heads not do the job? What other problems arise with the engine been over heated? If the block is straight and no sign of damage would it not be ok to use..?

Rebuilding the original block with new heads or reconditioned heads, new head gaskets and studs not be the same as a whole engine rebuild in terms of fixing the problem that we have in the first place?? Wouldn't seem right to me to rebuild the block if not broke but please share your info.

Thanks for reply.
